Jacob Campbell

5th Squad Member #006

The 5th Squad was created because of men like Jacob, for Veterans like Jacob.  Unfortunately Jacob passed away before the organization began its existence but he will forever be a member.  Jacob was the definition of a brother.  He was the epitome of what and who we want to be as a club, an organization, a family.

Jacob loved people and he loved his country.  He never wasted an opportunity to help someone in their lives.  We will always do our best to carry on his passion of service.

Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”  If Jacob were with us today he would have been an original member and would be working daily to help his fellow veterans in need.  For this reason the 5th Squad chose to add Jacob as a member in the beginning because of what he meant to all of us.  He is the only member not present for his vote.  He will always be the only member not present for vote.

Forever a member of the Wolfpack, Fly High Brother, 17 June 1986 – 21 January 2015.

5th Squad Member #003

Adam Austin was part of 5th Squad’s “First IV”. Adam’s heart and passion for helping Veterans in need helped build what we have today. Adam’s pride in his country and his service was unquestionable. He loved his brothers and family with a deep love. Adam went to war for our country twice. He received countless awards and accolades. He was the brains behind almost every organization he was a part of.

Adam was the first Vice-President of 5th Squad and at his passing he was still the VP.  His leadership and vision will be forever missed.

He was a graduate of Indianola Academy and attended Mississippi State University, University of Southern Mississippi, and Delta State University. He received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in finance from Delta State University.

But none of that compares to what he was the most. A loving father. He loved his children with a fire that could never burn out.

His friendship is something that can never be replaced.
